Head over to our advice section for checklists and information that will prove invaluable whilst you are planning your property move.
Moving overseas doesn’t have to be stressful or complicated. We’ve helped hundreds of people relocate across the globe, so you can sit back and relax and leave it in our capable hands. Here’s how it works.
Give us a call. We’ll be happy to talk you through the moving process and answer any questions you have. .
2. Property assessment
So we can give you a firm price, we’ll need to find out more about your move, including how much you’ve got to relocate, what the access is like at your property and when you’re looking to move.
It is particularly important when shipping oversea that that the amount of goods to be moved is calculated accurately as the price will be based on the total cubic footage you have to ship. The best way for us to do this is to arrange an appointment for one of our estimators to come and visit you at your property. A survey normally takes 20-30 minutes, depending on the size of your property. We’ll calculate the amount of furniture you have to move and the amount of materials we’ll need to pack and wrap your belongings
Prior to the estimators visit we recommend thinking about;
- Which items you may or may not wish to take with you.
- Who will pack your boxes.
- If you need any items to be air freighted so you receive them quickly.
- If you need to travel ahead of your belongings and will require storage.
If you only have a handful of items to ship try using our online quotation tool. When we receive your completed form we will assess your effects and contact you if we have any questions or believe an estimators visit would be more appropriate to provide an accurate price.
Packing for shipment
We recommend using our full packing service for all overseas relocations to make sure all your belongings are safe and secure during transit.

We aim to send out quotations by post or email within 48 hours of our estimator’s visit. Although this may take a little longer if you are moving somewhere off the beaten track.

We can advise on preparing your items for shipment, the rules on importing items into your destination country as well as the documentation you will need to complete.
Once you have a confirmed date for your move we will;

- We ask for payment in advance for all removals. So you will receive an invoice to confirm the total cost for all the services you have selected.
5. Moving day
We’ll brief your crew prior to the day so they’re up to speed on all aspects of your relocation. Once they arrive, they’ll introduce themselves and will walk around your property to discuss the finer details of your move, like any items that need special attention. If you’ve got any questions about your move, they’ll be happy to answer them.
If you are shipping a full container straight from your residence our crew will normally arrive a few days before the scheduled arrival of the container to wrap, pack and inventory your goods to ensure everything is ready for its arrival.
Once everything that needs to go has been loaded up we’ll ask you to check and sign the crew waybill to confirm this.
We take the utmost care with every shipment and use specialist boxes and protective wrap to ensure your effects arrive safety in whichever corner of the globe you are moving.
