Survey and planning

Whatever budget you have for your business removals, detailed planning is the key to every successful commercial relocation. Our first step is to carry out a full survey, discuss all your requirements and answer any questions you have about the move.
Once we’ve got all the information, we’ll give you a quote based on your company’s needs, we’ll then run through everything  with you to make sure that you are aware of everything and all of your questions have been covered.
We’ll allocate one of our experienced team members as your point of contact throughout the entire process. They’ll work with you to project manage your move, including attending project planning meetings and liaising with your contractors to make sure everything goes seamlessly on the day.

Even the best laid plans can change, so we aim to be as flexible as possible throughout business removals. Our team leaders will make sure that crews are fully briefed, supervised and kept informed of anything that changes before your move.

Crate hire and equipment

When you move offices, you’ll need to arrange for all the small items, like desk contents and files to be packed into purpose-designed crates so that they’re ready to be loaded on to the removal vehicles.

We usually arrange for crates to be delivered a week before your move to give you plenty of time to pack (and we’ll collect them a week after your move). Of course, if you need them sooner so you can make a start, or you want to take your time unpacking, just let us know.

Or you could opt for our full packing service, and we’ll take care of the entire business removal process for you.

From large pieces of machinery to heavy, bulky items, our team can move just about anything. We’ve got a range of specialist equipment from cranes to roll cages so we can complete your relocation with a minimum of disruption to your business.

Relocation management

Whether you’re looking for a premium relocation package for key executives or you’re interested in offering a relocation service to all new employees, we can help.

We work with a number of organisations to provide a bespoke removal service for new and existing employees. We have a range of removals packages which can either be paid for directly by the company, or offered as a discounted service for employees.

Tips to making business removals easier

1. Prepare, Prepare, Prepare

Time is money in business so it’s really important when organising business removals to prepare in as much time as possible, from choosing your removals company to packing your boxes prior to removal. The more time that you give yourself to prepare for your business removals, the more time you will be able to have to continue to work and make money.

2. Organise Business Removals

By organising a company to carry out your business removals this is another way of preparing your business for a move and ensuring as little disruption and downtime as possible. Business removals companies help you to reduce the amount of people required to help out with the office removal and let your employees continue to work whether at home or in another location whilst the move takes place.

3. Declutter

Moving business premises is a great time to declutter any unwanted junk from your space and get rid of anything you no longer use or need in your new location. This is especially helpful if you are downsizing, as this will help you to make the most of the space you have and the storage areas available in your new premises.

4. Assign Jobs To People

You may well have organised this in the preparation stage of your business removal, however we’d highly recommend that you dedicate certain jobs to people, this way you avoid having multiple people doing the same things and then nobody doing something else leaving you with a lot more work to do at the end than you’d hoped. Within this, having a dedicated project manager overseeing the whole process helps not only those that have been assigned certain tasks but also the business removals company as to where things need to go etc.

5. Use Labels

We’ve all seen it when people move house that they label the boxes to ensure that everybody knows what is in each of the boxes to help unpack, but this also helps the business removal company to know which room these boxes belong to. A way of making this even easier for everybody is to label your boxes with the name of the room at the new premises and have a label on each of the doors. This will ensure that the boxes match up with the rooms when unloading the removals truck.

Confidential Waste Shredding

It’s inevitable that you’ll come across a lot of unwanted documents that are no longer needed and it’s important as a business owner that this information is disposed of correctly and confidentially. Our sister company, Plymouth Self Storage understands the need for this and offers a secure confidential waste shredding service to help businesses with this exact situation. So, during the process of your business removals, you need not have to worry about what to do with your confidential papers as we have this covered.

All you need to do is fill the free waste management sacks with your confidential papers and take them to be destroyed (costs vary depending on how many sacks you have). What’s better, this is an on demand service, so even when you have moved and settled into your new office, you can still come back to safely and securely dispose of your documents.

If you’d like us to provide some confidential waste sacks ahead of your business removals let us know and we can provide these alongside the moving crates.

Storage solutions

If you’re looking to downsize your business premises whether this be an office or a warehouse, you are likely to be looking for solutions on where you can store your products and other equipment or furniture that you’d like to keep but won’t fit in your new location.

Have you thought about using a self storage facility for your business? If not, then you should!

Again, our sister company Plymouth Self Storage offers solutions for everybody, with a range of units to suit you and the needs of your business. If you’d like to discuss how storage solutions can help with your business removals, contact us today for more information on how this can be the most effective solution for your business.
