British Association of Removers
We are members of the largest and most recognised Trade Association for removals in the UK. All BAR members must meet strict standards and are regularly inspected to make sure that their facilities, equipment, staff training and operational procedures remain at the highest level. To find out more about what choosing a BAR member means and the new code of practice all members must adhere to visit www.bar.co.uk. We are very proud of the fact that our director Reg Hackworthy held the office of the President of the BAR for a number of years.
BAR is the first UK Trade Association to have Assured Advice, under the Primary Authority regulations and a Trading Standards Institute Code of Practice and an independent Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) scheme, ahead of legislation.
- Setting high professional standards for the industry by our Membership Criteria, and the BAR Code of Practice, approved by the Trading Standards Institute;
- Raising standards in the industry, by giving clear professional advice;
- Providing a scheme of pre-payment protection, and an independent alternative dispute resolution service in the unlikely event that something goes wrong;
- Lobbying government at local, National and European level to ensure that the industry and the public get a fair deal.
We have also chosen to confirm our commitment to high customer standards through:
BS EN 12522
Hackworthy & Sons have elected to adopt the European Standard for removals – BS EN 12522.
This is a quality standard specifically aimed at furniture removals and storage for the benefit of the private individual. We are inspected every year to ensure the standards we operate are among the highest in Europe.
